Hi all,

Today we are going learn how to improve our mail accounts performance by enabling few functions through cPanel

Improving the mail account functions will helps to avoid our mails going to landing into SPAM folder on the recipient  end

Let see how to do that via cPanel

Step 1:

To enable the necessary functions we need to  log on our hosting cPanel

Once logged in go-to the MAIL section and Click “Authentication” feature

Step 2:

Once we clicked the Authentication button, we will be landing into the featuring page where we can enable / disable the functions

Here we need to enable SPF and DKIM records to improve our mailing functions

What is DKIM ?

DKIM is a means of verifying incoming email. It ensures that incoming messages are unmodified and are from the sender from whom they claim to be. This feature works to prevent incoming spam messages.

What is SPF?

The SPF system allows you to specify servers and IP addresses that are authorized to send mail from your domain(s). This feature works to prevent outgoing spam messages.

Once we enabled SPF and DKIM records will get created for our domain name, because of this we can avoid our mails getting landing into the JUNK / SPAM folders

Step 3:

Next we are going to enable Apache SPAM Assassin which will comes with each cPanel as basic spam portection tool

By enabling this function we can reduce the unwanted incoming spam mails

This function can be identifiable under the MAIL section tab

Step 4:

Once we clicked the Apache Spam Assassin button we will be landing into the configuration page

Once we landed into the page we need to enable Apache SpamAssassin by clicking the Enable Apache SpamAssassin

Once enabled basis Apache Spam Assassin configuration will starts to protect our account

Also we can enable custom filters by using Configure Apache SpamAssassin option
